Right now I'm in the middle of reading a book called Hunger
Games. The authors name is Suzzane Collins and she rihts this book
very well and easy to understand. The book is about one girl and one
boy from each district fighting till their death on live TV, this is
called the Hunger Games. At first when I heard about this book I
wanted to read it but I didn't know if I should because I thought the
the story seemed kind of disgusting.
The main characters name is Katiness. She was one of the two
people that are going to be competing in the Hunger Games from her
district. She is in district 12 and this is the poorest district of
all of them. With her dad dead she is the one taking care of and
feeding her family by hunting for food and trading it. So far I love
the book but it is a little bit slow and boring in the beginning
leading up to the games, but once I get to the games I think that I
will be reading it a lot faster and it will be more exciting. I don't
know if this book is going to turn out that well because I find it
kind of weird that it is about killing other people, but I think that
it will turn out in a good way and I will really like the book when I
finish it and continue to read the other two books in this series.

JJ your post was great. I read the Hunger Game books and I loved them; keep reading them. The book gets much faster once you get to the actual Hunger Games.
ReplyDeleteI totally get why you would think this story was disgusting by the description - because at its heart the premise for this book is disgusting - I don't want to imagine a nation that picks two children from every state to fight to the death for government goods and services. Seriously grim idea - I don;t think this is a "children's book" because it takes some ability to be able to read about about young people literally fighting to survive. I liked the book - but it was not a "happy" book.
