Harry Potter
One of my favorite series' is the Harry Potter series. When I was younger my teacher read the first two books to us in class and I really wasn't too into it but then my teacher said that I should find a good book to read and she suggested for me to read Harry Potter and I started from the third book and really liked it and finished the series. It was my favorite book of the time from about third through fifth grade and I have watched all of the movies. I really loved the idea of magic and when I was younger I had always wanted to be a wizard. At the time I really didn't understand the book well and I started to read the series again and it is pretty good so far and I am excited to finish it.

Al Capone Does My Shirts
Last year I read Al Capone for school and at first I didn't really like it then it started to get interesting. It was one of those books where at first it is kind of boring then once you finish it you love it. I remember when I was done thinking that I really like it. After that the author made another book called Al Capone Shines My Shoes. I started to read that book but, never came around to finishing it. Everybody said that the second was better than the first, but, I liked the first better and I think that is how it is for most books that come in series' because you read the first book and you like it so much that you can't think that there will be a book better than it. Also usually the first book is what draws you in to the series and in my opinion being the best of it. The book is about a kid that has a older sister that is doesn't act like she is older than him because she has autism and is very smart in some ways but also isn't so smart socially. She tried to get into other schools but none of them worked. Then her younger brother tried one last thing and that was to see if Al Capone could get her in to the school. And he did. Basically that is the plot and I really liked it. It is fun to read and interesting. I remember seeing a lot of people reading it and it was on a lot of bookshelves and it didn't interest me and somebody recommended it to me at the bookstore and I said that I didn't want to read it and it turned out that we did end up reading it in the beginning of the year.

Lightning Thief
A book that I started to read but never got around to finish is Lightning Thief. It is not a difficult book to read, but at the time that I was reading it, it was hard for me because I hadn't read much. I thought it was a really good book and at first I was not into it and a little while later I decided to try again and see if I liked it. I loved it and there were some ups and downs, some slow and some fast paced parts. I do not remember it well and if I started to read it again I would really like it. The last part I remember was with about 150 pages left I was deep into the book but there was no climax or high point of the story yet. I remember I was at the part where they were in a waterpark or something by an empty pool.
Overall I thought that it was a good read for me to start up on and if I ever get around to finishing it or restarting it I think that I will enjoy it.

Strap Bar
Strap Bar is a book taht I have started recently written by a mom of a gymnast. The book is written in the gymnast's perspective and what they think. The plot of the book is based off of a bunch of short stories that have happened to these gymnastics. The book is about how they overcame fears, were able to deal with a really mean coach who just so happens to be a mulitple olympic gold medalist and just the normal parts in general about gymnastics that are hard to understand on the outside world. These kids have had injuries and even with them the coach is pushing them to sip levels and to go for the gold. Even when they have bad competetions the coach gets meaner and meaner depending on how bad that they did. I have just started the book but so far I loke it and I think that it could be interesting to see what I can get ou of this book.

Gymnastics
At the moment I am reading a very good book called Gymnastics. I know that, that is kind of a bland name, but that is all it is called. I love gymnastics, but I was just looking through these books by an author that I like, Dan Gutman, who has written many books that I've read. But this was strange because there are barely any books about gymnastics.
This book is about the history of gymnastics which could get a little boring, and about the gymnastics from the past that completely changed the sport or has a relation to someone that changed the sport or just is a great gymnastics that has a good story. Well the book eventually gets into how everything works. It is kind of funny because at the start of the book he made this paragraph about gymnastics talking with gymnastics talk. It is completely crazy talk because it is not understandable to a non-gymnast. Then you start to learn about what basic skills are which is hard to memorize if you can't visually see it. But overall this seems like a great book that I will definetly finish.

Steve Jobs
The book Steve Jobs is about his whole life leading up to his death. "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson caught my eye when I saw that it was going to come out pretty soon after his death. What I have learned before starting the book was about what he wanted when he died and what he did not want. He did not want people to say "oh what would Steve Jobs do if he was this situation". He did not want people to try to think what he would of done and just do what they feel is right. He had always wanted to teach some of the younger developers like Mark Zuckerburg. He had wanted to look at the TV more because he thought that it needed some work.
Steve Jobs was the one that wanted the book to be written and he would meet up with the author every once and a while and just talk. Isaacson did not originally want to do this but he did. Steve Jobs never wanted to read it.
Anyway I had started this book and it talked about many things of the beginning of his story and also about how much of a jerk he was. He was just flat out mean. He would only do what he wanted to do and I guess it all worked out for the best because if you don't have a mean person nothing is ever going to happen in a company. I hope to find the time to read this book because I really think that I will enjoy this and it seems great. On the other hand it is a huge book so I'll get started as soon as I can.
